Marcus Ericsson Returns to Rolex 24 with Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini

The 35-year-old Swede joins full-season drivers Trent Hindman and Danny Formal, fresh off his Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final title, alongside endurance specialist Graham Doyle. Ericsson, a mainstay with Andretti Global in IndyCar, steps into GT racing after supporting his brother Hampus in WTR's Super Trofeo program throughout 2025 and making his Lamborghini GT3 debut at the Michelin 12H Malaysia last weekend. "I'm super excited to be back racing with Wayne Taylor Racing for the legendary Rolex 24 hours," Ericsson said. "It will be my third time racing the Daytona 24 but the first time for me in the GTD class. I'm joining a great lineup with Danny, Trent and Graham, whom I know quite well already after being to quite a few races with the team in 2025 whilst supporting my brother, Hampus, in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo championship." His prior Daytona runs came in 2024 with WTR's Acura ARX-06 in GTP, building on experience from higher classes. Team co-owner Wayne Taylor sees podium potential: "Danny Formal, Trent Hindman and Graham Doyle did a great job in 2025, and we feel like we have a really good shot at a podium. We have drivers and crew that have experience with the car and with this event." The move, enabled by shared ownership under TWG Motorsports, bridges Ericsson's IndyCar duties with IMSA's endurance crown jewel on January 25-26. Expect the No. 45 to contend in a stacked GTD field.
