They’ll be available at launch thanks to a partnership with Reviver. The plates will be highly customizable and will likely cost $899. Sony Honda Mobility is the unique combination between an automaker and a tech titan, so it comes as little surprise the upcoming Afeela 1 will be pretty advanced. That’s clear today as the company has announced the model will be offered with a digital license plate. The high-tech offering was made possible thanks to a partnership with Reviver, which created the world’s first digital license plate. It will be offered as an accessory and SHM said the plate will be customizable just like the car’s front Media Bar, which can display messages as well as the vehicle’s charging status.More: Sony Honda Bringing New Concept And Pre-Production Afeela 1 To CESIn the case of the plate, owners will be able to adjust the font as well as select black or white backgrounds. Owners can also add taglines or hashtags to reflect their personality.SHM didn’t go into many specifics, but said the digital license plate will be “priced comparably and available with the first deliveries of the Afeela 1 in 2026.” We can expect to learn more closer to launch, but Reviver sells the RPlate for $899 on their website. The company also noted the plate has a five-year battery, which can be replaced when needed. Sony Honda Mobility of America CEO Shugo Yamaguchi said, “Our collaboration with Reviver reflects SHMA’s commitment to seamlessly integrating smart, connected technologies into every part of the Afeela experience. The RPlate  brings new levels of personalization to our customers, enriching the experience from the moment they take delivery of their very own Afeela 1.”Making A Splash At CESRPlate-equipped cars will be on display at CES next month, where the company will also introduce a pre-production 1. It will be joined by a mysterious new concept, which promises to show the company’s commitment to evolving the brand. While the automaker isn’t saying much, the model is expected to be a crossover for obvious reasons. It’s also worth noting Sony introduced the Vision-S 02 crossover concept in 2022. --> TAGS Afeela Honda Sony Tech Follow us on Google News MSN Start Follow Carscoops on Google News Follow Carscoops on MSN Start Michael Gauthier Editor Hailing from Metro Detroit, it was practically destiny for Michael Gauthier to dive headfirst into...
