Alpine's Drop-Top Double: Two Convertibles to Shake Up the EV Sports Scene

Alpine wants two convertibles in its garage by decade's end. The French brand builds toward a full electric lineup of seven models. Drop-tops headline the plan: one for the next A110 sports car, another for the forthcoming Porsche 911-chasing fastback GT. The new A110 lands first. This electric successor ditches petrol roots for the Alpine Performance Platform. Expect in-wheel motors, 350-mile range and a featherweight feel around 1,450kg. Coupe arrives in 2026. Roadster follows in 2027. Engineers promise the same razor-sharp handling that made the current model a track darling. That GT fastback takes aim higher. Likely badged A310, it slots as a four-seater sports coupe on the same platform. Think low-slung proportions with quad headlights and a curved rear glass echoing A110 cues. Hardtop debuts around 2028. Convertible joins by 2029 or 2030. Both pack serious range potential, up to 400 miles, and all-wheel drive punch. These roofless machines fit Alpine's bold push. The lineup already rolls out with A290 hot hatch and A390 crossover SUV. Larger D- and E-segment EVs close the set. USA and China markets open from 2027. Revenue targets hit €8 billion by 2030, all net-zero production. Open tops revive Alpine's glory days. Wind-in-hair drives once defined brands like this. Now they go electric, proving drop-tops thrive beyond gas guzzlers. Rivals like Porsche ponder their moves. Alpine charges ahead, roof down.
